lacquers and special purpose protective coatings.Our products are used by individuals, contract
painters and industrial customers.
With operations in Australia and New Zealand, Wattyl employs over 2000 people. The Company’s origins date back to 1915 where, in an Australian backyard, H.R.Walters developed a treatment for reviving French-polished furniture. This innovative product, known as ’Crystal Veneer’ became an immediate success and laid the foundation of Wattyl’s future success. From its humble backyard beginnings to its listing on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1959, Wattyl through innovation, research and development, acquisitions, and organic growth has become the leading Australian-owned paint manufacturer.
Since 1920 , Solver Paints have been relied on to beautify and maintain Australian homes, offices and public buildings. Eighty years of solvering Australia’s painting problems can only be described as a real tradition, something to be proud of.
Solver Paints have always been made in Australia for Australian conditions. It’s little wonder then, that today you can find Solver paints being used just about anywhere - from the inner city houses to sign posts out the back of Bourke.

1915 年

1954年-1959年

1959年
WATTYL在澳大利亚股票市场正式挂牌上市，股票代号：WYL，成为名副其实的公众公司。
1963年
WATTYL兼并位于新南威尔士州的TAFFELHONE涂料厂，WATTL瓦特尔开始走上对外扩张的发展道路。
1967年
WATTL收购 KAYLO 涂料公司，进入金属涂料市场。
1970年
WATTYL兼并新西兰SOLWAY涂料公司，正式进入新西兰市场，首次将市场开发到澳大利亚以外的国际市场领域，为WATTYL瓦特尔进军国际市场奠定基础。
1971年
WATTYL收购位于新南威尔士州的DAVISON涂料公司和位于昆士兰州布里斯本的USHER涂料公司，扩大了WATTYL瓦特在澳大利亚装饰市场的份额。
1977年
WATTYL接管澳大利亚名列前茅的NATIONAL国家涂料公司，利用其NATIONAL、PAMMASTIC 以及 GLAZEBROOK 等涂料品牌加强了WATTYL瓦特尔在澳大利亚涂料装饰市场的地位。
1981年
WATTYL收购了位于昆士兰州的澳大利亚著名防腐涂料公司PIONEER化学公司，借助其KILLRUST品牌，WATTYL瓦特步入著名的防腐涂料领域，进一步丰富了WATTYL瓦特涂料家族的产品系列。
1985年
WATTYL收购另一家澳洲著名工业涂料公司--JAMES HARDIE工业涂料公司，利用SPARTAN涂料品牌巩固了WATTYL瓦特在汽车涂料领域的市场的地位。
同年，WATTYL不断拓展国际市场，通过与欧洲荷兰国际著名的AKZO和SIGMA涂料公司，以及新西兰的MURAFLEX特种涂料公司等海外公司签订一系列合作协议，不断扩大WATTYL瓦特在国际市场上的知名度。WATTYL通过子公司SIGMA，使WATTYL瓦特涂料产品覆盖了大型露天体育场、大型储备罐、船舶等特种防护涂料市场需求。
1987年
WATTYL通过收购DIMET集团在东南亚曼谷、新加坡、吉隆坡等地的分公司，将WATTYL瓦特涂料打入亚洲市场。
1988年
WATTYL通过收购美国乔治亚州的 PRECISION 涂料公司，正式打入美国市场，进一步扩展全球业务。
同年，WATTYL收购了位于新南威尔士州悉尼的另一家历史悠久的著名涂料公司--PASCOL涂料公司，巩固了WATTYL瓦特在建筑涂料方面的地位。
1989年
WATTYL收购新西兰的SAMSONGOLDX公司，并将其与WATTYL瓦特在新西兰原有的机构进行重组，重组后的SAMSONGOLDX公司目前在新西兰涂料市场具有领导地位，如同WATTYL瓦特在澳大利亚本土市场的地位一样。
1991年
WATTYL瓦特通过收购美国的卡洛莱纳涂料公司，进一步扩大在美国的市场份额。
1992年
WATTYL收购美国佛罗里达州的MCI涂料公司。
同年，WATTYL还收购了南澳洲的致力于涂料零售、工业以及建筑的 SOLVER涂料公司，提供更为丰富多彩的WATTYL涂料产品。
1994年
WATTYL瓦特通过收购美国佛罗里达州EDGEWATER的CORONADO科洛娜多涂料公司，进一步扩大在美洲市场份额，其产品行销全美国以及加拿大。
1995年
WATTYL收购了位于澳洲悉尼又一著名涂料公司--GRANOSITE葛尼赛涂料公司，增补了WATTYL瓦特涂料在立体质感结构聚合涂料的品种，尤其在艺术建筑，立体质感效果涂料领域，具有领导地位。
同年，WATTYL收购新西兰奥克兰州的 NORFOLK涂料公司，并于当年十一月收购新西兰TAUBMANS涂料公司，巩固了WATTYL瓦特尔在新西兰商业涂料市场的地位。
1996年
WATTYL收购了美国芝加哥的 PREMIER涂料公司，成为WATTYL瓦特在美国东北部的生产基地。
同年十一月，价值二千万美元的世界一流的、最先进的涂料生产设备在澳大利亚维多利亚州的FOOTSCRAY基地投产。
1997年
WATTYL收购位于美国马里兰州巴尔的摩的聚氨酯涂料和清漆制造商LENMAR勒马公司，提升了WATTYL瓦特在美洲工业涂料方面的开发与生产。
1998年
WATTYL瓦特在南澳洲WATTYL SOLVER投资两千六百万美元具备世界最先进的生产设备的KILBURN生产基地投产。
同年，WATTYL瓦特卖掉了位于华盛顿州肯特的WASSER华瑟高科技涂料公司。
1999年
WATTYL开始对庞大的WATTYL瓦特集团在海内外的分公司进行全面整合。
同年，WATTYL瓦特为了巩固澳洲和亚洲市场，卖掉了位于美国东南部的涂料零售业务，其中包括在乔治亚、佛罗里达等等地的20家商店。
2000年
WATTYL瓦特为了调整生产与销售网络，使其布局更为合理，WATTYL瓦特关闭位于维多利亚州的MOORABBIN，昆士兰州的ROCKLEA以及新南威尔士州的BOTANY三个基地，恢复BLACKTOWN生产基地，并作为瓦特研发与销售基地，使WATTYL瓦特的主要工厂缩减至三个合理规模的、更有效率的现代化高科技工厂。
2002年
WATTYL瓦特与YANGTZE签订中国市场WATTYL KING KANGAROO瓦特金袋涂料承销协议，YANGTZE开始在中市场全面销售WATTYL瓦特各种系列的产品。
2004年
WATTYL瓦特卖掉剩余的美国涂料业务，彻底退出了美国涂料市场。WATTYL瓦特曾在美国经营建筑涂料业务，公司为佛罗里达州EDGEWATER的科洛娜多（CORONADO）涂料公司，以及位于巴尔的摩的聚氨酯涂料和清漆制造商勒马（LENMAR）公司。WATTYL瓦特位于悉尼，卖掉美国的涂料业务主要是美国销售不够强劲，同时为了使公司专注澳洲和亚洲市场。
2005年
WATTYL瓦特举行90年庆典，回顾辉煌历程，展望美好未来。
同年，WATTYL瓦特HEAD OFFICE搬迁至悉尼NORTH RYDE。
